For all this years of gaming I so used to DualShock controllers but now I'm playing on PC most of the time and I don't want to change my habits by switching to something else like Xbox controller... that's actually the whole story. This topic for gamers who want to play on glorious platform using old trusty DualShock 4... or DualSence. So let's get started.
Nothing is happening in Possum Springs, and most likely will never happen. For Mae Borowski, time stopped here when she left for college and started again when, failing, she came back. But for the rest of the townspeople, it went further. Parents were getting old, friends were growing up, acquaintances were changing, and the town itself was dying.
This game has an everyday life concept. The narration mostly goes through dialogues and they are pretty good here. The balance is brought by various and exciting mini-games. The visual style goes hand in hand with the setting and is very charmingly. A neat sound design conveys what is happening, and the soundtrack is at the same time works as an unobtrusive background and as the reason why sometimes you do not want to hurry anywhere, but just stay still and listen.
I highly recommend to go there - to the Possum Springs this weird autumn and see how... nothing actually happens. The author tried to say a lot and, most likely, most of this will pass us by. But some of the fragments will go straight into the soul of the player. Thank you for this masterpiece Alec Holowka and rest in peace.
Okami - is an open-world metroidvania with pretty interesting gameplay features. This game has come a long way, starting it from the Sony PlayStation2, hitting the spotlights on the Nintendo Wii, has been in sight at the rest of the console and now you can enjoy it on the PC in high resolution and unlocked frame-rate.
This game is a kind of Japanese folklore fairy tale where you are playing the role of the wolf Amaterasu - the goddess of the sun and the mother of all living things.
Main visual style feature is that game looks like a canvas painted with ink and watercolors and the main gameplay feature is that in any moment you can interact with this canvas by painting over it with wolf's tail dipped into ink.
There is no need to look for a hardcore in this game, since it has an exceptionally meditative purpose. The world here, though open, but at the same time feels cozy and handmade, and a lot of micro-activities make it come to life under your paws.
The game has an equally entertaining, but even more unknown successor called Okamiden for the Nintendo DS portable console which I also highly recommend you to play.
